For me, waking up in the Barrett household these days is like being on
vacation.  My dear husband of 38 years greets me with a fresh brewed cup
of coffee while I sweep the cobwebs from my brain, fire up the computer,
and begin the day feasting on your inspirational blogs.  We are retired and
my husband's passion for golf rivals my craft addiction.  In addition, to
being a spoiled wife, I am a mother of two married children who live too
far away.  My career years were spent teaching children but the best job
that I have ever held is that of Grandma.  We are affectionately called Mimi
and Papa Barrett... "the ones with the puppies".  It is a long name but we
    answer every time. *grin*

My husband had always been after me to have a hobby.  I dabbled in scrapbooking off and on for
years but once I bought my first stamp.... I found my passion.  I finally admitted to myself last
summer that scrapbooking was not for me. I shed my guilt of not documenting every family picture
and celebration and jumped into the world of blogging, in August of 2009.  Now you will find me in
my studio most days stamping away.

I have been given the greatest gift from God, that is, the gift of cancer.  I am a four time cancer
survivor.  Even though this changed my life dramatically and caused me to leave my beloved
classroom; I now have the time to develop my other passion of studying God's Holy Word.  When I
happened upon Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, I was thrilled to see a company that focused on
scripture. Making cards with Kelley's stamps allows me to extend my worship in a tangible way that
shares my faith with others.  I am truly blessed and humbled to be associated with ODBD as guest
designer for the months of April and May.  Thank you, Kelley and Grace.
