This months Customer Appreciation Award goes to Brenda Woods!
I learned recently of Brenda's card ministry and wanted to share her
story.....

"When I first found Our Daily Bread designs, I had just started
makingcards for a charity. The parent is CRC and the donated cards
went to one of their outreach programs. This particular part of the
program opened store where they put people back into the workforce. The participants were
either in a facility for mental problems, alcohol or drug addition. Some
were displaced due to serious illness that broke them emotionally, mentally or spiritually.
Some were displaced because they lost their jobs and had no place to go but knew the
street life was not for them. Once the participants went through counseling and could prove
and/or pass all the necessities, they are given an opportunity to work in one of the many
stores CRC has in different areas of the city. This organization was able to gain funding so
once the participants were ready to go back into the workforce, they could work in one of
the stores and get help in finding a place to live. Whatever the store sells, a portion goes to
the participants.

The majority of the holidays I make between 15-30 cards at no cost. This charity won my
heart when I found out how they are helping people get their lives back on track. I was
especially touched when I ran into one of my church members who is a participant and she
is now living on her own with this organization's help. She is in church every Sunday and
I'm sure even when I'm not there and I never knew what she was going through until she
started working in the store. The store I donate to is right next door to where I work.

The other place I donate my cards to is my church. For Easter, Christmas, Mothers' Day and
Fathers' Day, I make no less than 35 cards at no charge.  I am now working with one of
the leaders of our youth/education department to get projects going on a monthly basis. I
have about 15 cards ready for this coming Sunday and the 3rd Sunday of every other
month will be "Cards of Encouragement". None of the cards will have a special title, just a
poem or scriptures from ODBD.

If at any time any of my friends are participating in a program for their church and request
a project from me, I do so at no charge. (I can't even imagine charging God for a talent He
has given me.)"
